On April 4, 2017 at approx 12:29AM the Upshur County Sheriff's Office received a call about a shooting in the 100 Block of PR 3367, in the Union Grove Community. When deputies arrived on the scene, a female victim was found deceased. The victim was identified as 23 yr old Miranda Streed.

Shots at Deputy's home:

On Saturday, at appx 11PM, a deadly conduct incident occured at the residence of an Upshur County Deputy in Diana. Individuals fired multiple gunshots that struck the deputy's home, patrol vehicle and personal car.
​
One round entered the home and lodged in the clothing that was worn by the deputy's child. Another round struck the chair that the child was seated in as he played video games. The child was not injuried.
​
Witnesses observed that the shooters were in a brown or tan passenger car. The car went west on FM 3245 going towards Hwy 259.
​
Due to the amount of damage done to the partol car, investigators are looking into the likelihood of retaliation motive on the part of the persons having interaction with the Upshur County Sheriff's Office or one of it's deputies.

Diana Bank Robbery Press Update
The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation in coordination with the FBI of the robbery of Security State Bank in Diana, Texas.
On Friday afternoon, August 11, 2017, three black males entered the bank and demanded money. The actors displayed a firearm during the commission of the robbery.
The actors gained an undetermined amount of cash from the bank and left, last seen on foot going west behind the bank. Video footage from a nearby business captured the actors before they had covered their faces to commit the robbery. A picture of this footage is attached to this release.
